I hope its ok to steel one thread then creating yet another "please help with hone ID" thread.
I got this from a guy in UK for peanuts. He told me its a natural sharpening polishing stone of possibly thuringian type.
I dont think itz thurigian at all but maybe you can help me with identification and if its usefull in my honing process or if i should simply use it for a bookshelf instead :)
I have lapped thuringians with sand paper 600 and 1000grits before and lapping was fast.
When doing the same on this stone this is definately much much much harder, and lapping takes time.
In fact i dont know if the slurry from the pics are from the stone or the sandpaper used :)
What do you think of it? Size is nice and it feels like a nice polisher?
