When I hear cleaning up and polishing from Antique stores, I immediately go to the need to do some amount of restoration of the edge, but at least bevel setting. I would also go with the recommended Naniwa Chosera 1K followed by the Norton 4K/8K, or Shapton Glass 4K/8K or Naniwa Super 5K and 8K with a finishing stone and DMT 325 for lapping and cleaning.

    Have fun.

The genco blade I have cleaned up amazingly. The W&B I will have to clean up before I see the quality of the edge. It is a wedge and a spike do im not going to jump into shaving with that one too quickly.

Lynn I am just curious to know which finishing stones you prefer.
