Thanked: 58GEM combo barber's hone
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen, heard of, or used a GEM barber's hone? I found one the other day in mint condition. It's about a 2"x4.5" smooth hone about 1/4" thick with a horsehide strop on the other side. Sandwiched between the two is a piece of felt.
The directions are with it along with pictures indicating it wasn't necessarily for the barber, but for the layman. I got it for $18 and think that it's the perfect combo for traveling!

I have one, but do not use it. Just an addition to my collection;I use a different brand of barber hone/strop in my travel kit.

Thanked: 58That's it almost exactly. My hone's a little grayer and the strop side a little redder, but the box is the same. You know any history on it? Why don't you use it?

I have no history on it, GOOGLED my self to death when I got it, not much luck.
I just collect barber hones, most of the time. The Gem I have appears un-used, so I leave it that way. I have not been away from home long enough to need touch ups on my two travel razors. I have a Pike strop/hone in the travel bag, should I need it.
