    Default My first hone job!

Alright so i had a hard time deciding between a Nawiwa set or a coticule so i went ahead and bought a Naniwa 3k/8k combo AND a coticule, which hasnt arrived yet.

I also ordered a Chosera 1k that hasnt arrived yet either. So here we go

Got an old razor off ebay for a decent price, it's actually labeled as a craftsman (yay power tools) and is solingen with a gold spine (almost like the Dovo Bismarck). I was told the razor was new and had never been used before, edge was very dull with no grab on the TNT and not shaving arm hairs at all. There was also a little rust and chipping on the edge but got rid of most of that with a few passes on a glass bottle.

Started out on the 3k with about 30-35 circles on each side (wasnt really counting) and about 50 full x-strokes followed by about 60 x-strokes on the 8k side. Brought it to my pasted strop and did 8 strokes on .5 micron diamond paste and about 13 on .5 crOx spray and finished with 50 laps on linen strop and 50 on leather. To my suprise the shave was very smooth! im guessing the bevel was already set alright, just needed some work. Hooray!

Based off the amount of work you did, I'd guess that you're right. Congrats on the success!
