Hmmm would have to make a guess, perhaps a Chinese Guangxi glued to a synthetic hone or rubber? Where did you get it from?

from the side and looking at the cut pattren looks to be a Chinese Guangxi (c-nat)

This looks, to me, like one of the Thuringian Eschers of recent manufacture. They're a lighter green than the older escher stones. The cut marks on the end look really familiar. I can see why folks would say it looks like the Chinese stone but my Chinese stone looks really different from this one both in color and thickness.

Thanked: 3164I can't see what the problem is - the name is printed on the edge. It's obviously the AAAAAAAA Hone, or '8A' as it is more commonly referred to, an improvement on the 7A and of a much finer grit than the 1A...
