Default Green Hue in a Coticule

I noticed that my newly acquired coticule has a green hue to it. Is it a distinct character of any vein? I see that anything that's somewhat green is La Verte. What is the green hue (chemical - like some black lines are magnesium lines)? Just curious.

I think uranium & copper have green salts. Maybe others ?

If it's a recent purchase, it could be a La Grise. In my experience they have a similar green hue to La Verte. According to Jarod at the Superior shave, most of the coticules comming out of Ardennes at the moment are La Dressante and La Grise.

Just got aš nice La Grise and La Novelle Vein, directly from Ardennes. The La Grise has a uniform light green color.

Manganese not magnesium. Often times you get fine lines of the stuff they usually refer to as dendrites.

I don't know anything about the geology of the stones but .... I've had three, still have one, green coticule. IME all were harder stones and were good finishers. Sharpening was doable with slurry but long and tedious with water only. Nice finisher, the one I kept. Came from Belgium by way of South Africa. The internet is a fantastic thing isn't it ?

Thanks, bigspendur. I have a La Verte and a La Grise. They're more dark green/brown, but this is like leafy green hue mixed in yellow part (though not obvious). I don't think it's any significant....just curious. I guess it's become more of trying to figure out the composition of a Les Lat (multiple colors)....which could be a pointless exercise. lol. Just curiosity.
