    Default Antique find. Thuri score!

I decided today would be a good day to do my usual run of antique mall near me.

I strolled by the usual seller who has tons of razors and is quite knowledgeable about what he has. The prices reflect it. Not today... I found something he didn't know he had.

    A Thuri. Enjoy some pics.

I do actually have a question... it's located at the bottom of all the images.

Cleaned with just dish soap and a brush.

Cleaned with dish soap and water. The stone is in the middle. To the left is a blue Thuri and the right is a y/g Escher for comparison.

Just in case you wanted to know how much I paid for it. The number 998 is the vendor number.

Piet and I looked over the images and we think it might be a blue/green Thuri?? If you have some ideas please chime in. The feel of the hone, the feel of it lapping very easily and the over all size compared to the other Thuri has me a STRONG believer this is a Thuri.

Man, if it's a good finisher...who cares if it's a purple polka dotted thuringian! Nice find man, nice find. Take it to a known shave ready razor that was finished on your known Escher and give it 20x on it, strop and shave...let us know the results. Hopefully you won't notice any difference. What a price too...care to double your money?

That WAS a great find. And I just had my second great shave in a row off of that very stone! smile. Now, I'm going looking for one myself. Wow! I'm sold. Thanks again.
