I bought mine from an ebay seller in Michigan. Total cost with shipping was right around $35.00. The listing is titled "12000 grit natural whetstone for fine honing. 7.8" long. Slurry stone included."

I would do a little reading on the "Chinese 12K" hone before you rush out and buy one though, it does have mixed reviews. I'm happy with mine, but some people have been unlucky. It's a natural stone, so "grit" is always a gamble. But, its a heck of a lot cheaper than coticule roulette!

You might want to try it without slurry too. I found mine to give a much better edge when I skipped slurrying. Granted, it takes a hell of a lot of strokes, but the edge was great.

I have one with the same strips and hasn't effected honing yet. I like mine its a small one, but works perfect for finishing or touch ups if needed. Don't mind the reflection.

ime the pale grey phig I think it's better than the blue-grey one,
I used to have 6 with a bit different colours, strip & lines .
when I got the best one but barber hone size, I sold the other 5.
and I got once that does slurry dulling which is not common

Mine is 6"x2" and I find it quite easy to use. I use it with little slurry and dilute to clear water to finish.

Anybody get one from open-razor on ebay? I know 381 people have bought one...but any of you? I'm just curious how long shipping usually takes to the states from Poland.

I got mine from him and took about a week. It really wasn't as long as I thought it was going to take coming from Poland.

I bought one from the guy in Poland and it took about 3 weeks. I got lucky and don't have any complaints. The more I use it the better it gets.

I lapped one side with wet-dry sandpaper up to 1500 grit. The one I received maxed out a blade within 40 & 50 laps (20 slurry and 20-30 on water), with softer steels but up to 70 to 80 laps with harder American steels, but the edge wasn't as smooth as it should have been.

So I started using Burt's bees shaving cream with a dilution of water on the stone (no slurry) and the stone has a softer silky feel and the razor edges are very sharp and smooth. The key to getting a good edge on my hone is using about zero pressure in the finally 10 to 15 laps.
