    Default DMT Dia-Flat Lapping Plate

Ok, it has been out for about a year now, and I am sure that many more guys have got one by now.

Dia-Flat™ Lapping Plate | DMTŪ - Diamond Machining Technology

How has it been holding up compared to a DGLP, or just even compared to the trusty old DMT8C?

Has DMT's "Hard-coat technology" really held up to its promise?

Though I don't abuse my DMT lapping plate, I have to say that it is a beast and it is extremely durable. I use it mostly for waterstones and with running water. It is lighning fast too. For my style it is very aggresive finish for finishing stones, natural and synthetic unless they need more work. These stones are followed up with an 8c or another waterstone to calm surface down. In short, this lapping plate will last a very long time compared to the 8c. The hard coat combined with the 220 grit has my repect.
