    Smile Fathers and Grandfathers Hones

    Good evening everyone,
The other day I was browsing through Ebay and saw there was a "Frictionite 00" hone that was commanding some serious $$. After reading some info under the listing, I thought I remembered something like it amongst my Dads and Grandfathers collection of stones (Both of them were barbers for many years). Well wouldn't you know it, there in the box was a little green felt sleeve holder with a frictionite 00 hone tucked inside. I will have to give it a try but I usually use a Belgian coti then finish with Diamond lapping film. I am also including pictures of the Frctionite, 3 cotis (2 @5x2.5, 1 @ 8x1.75) and a Franz Swaty @ 7x2. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been left these items as well as others.

    Wonderful inheritance.

When the time comes I hope your grandson shaves with a straight as well. That would be so cool to use something that his grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather used. Enjoy!!!

You made me think...Family stones...Kind of like "family Jewels". You can still use them when you get old, though!

I guess that lays the dual-grit Swaty controversy to rest.
