    Default High street hone

As am about as patient as a 4yr old on christmas eve, i was wondering if anyone knows of any english high street shops that sells hones?

i already have a 1k stone but obvioulsly i need something a higher now, im looking for 4k, 8k and 12k.

would i need any other for a blade restoration?

    cheers

Just order from the Invisible Edge or Strop Shop, both are quick to deliver. Taylor of Old Bond Street had some sort of artificial hone last time I went, but it appeared quite coarse for razors. Some hardware stores, tool shops etc may have some low grit hones but your best bet is a knife shop. In any case what you are looking for doesn't lend itself to high street retail. Hope this helps.

I have to agree with Scipio on the invisible edge, I've ordered all my homes from them they tend to post orders on Tuesday's and Fridays they all tend to go either recorded or special delivery and arrive very quickly, I take my hat off to Steve from the invisible edge u couldn't ask for a nicer person to order from.

If you live near an Axminster store, they've got a good selection of stones. You could walk out of there with a decent spread of stones and the requisite DMT Coarse plate.

And the High Wycombe store says they're having a "Sharpening with Waterstones" event on June 9. Road trip (Or whatever the UK equivalent is)!
