Thanked: 5Can anyone identify this hone at all?
This hone arrived with a load of kit I purchased from another forum.
The original owner didn't know what it was and I'm sort of hoping that it is identifiable by the photos I've taken.
The grey side is significantly smoother than the cream side - I'm not sure if this is the active side or whether both sides are usable and the cream side needs lapping?

I'd say that that is a coticule bout.

Definitely coticule on the yellow side. Reverse looks like slate (as opposed to BBW), but I'd need better photos to say for sure.

Thanked: 5Thanks guys.
I was hoping that it would be a coticule but didn't want to hedge my bets.
Short of getting a BBW to compare, is there any way of determining if it is a BBW base or slate?

Thanked: 5Thanks for the comparison pictures.
It's definitely like the slate backed ones.
I'm really happy to find out that I have a coticule without realising I had one.
