In total i've used a straight razor now for qlmost three weeks. At least 5 times a week. I have a boker eidelweiss, a TI sheffield and a dove master. I have a dovo paddle strop with red cream on one side and clean leather on the other.

The shaving part i got down to a science, i usednto to do it at my uncle's barber shop around 30 years ago.

Thank you to you all for your guidance.

Thank you for the advice pinklather. I used to go to my uncle's barbershop abround 30 yrs ago and that is where i learned to shave but with all the rushing of work ii gave it up. This past July my wife got me a shave at art of shaving and i got hooked.

    Regards.

By your join date, I'd guess you're new to the shave. If so, you might want to leave the nani alone for a few months until getting the shave down. If you need a hand w/ edges, pm me - just the cost of the envelope & postage to get it back to you. 'Have 3 inbound now for edge from members that have had my edges before.

I'm called pinklather 'cause against the advice of the experienced guys, I tried to learn to hone while I learned to shave. It didn't go well.

If you're just seeking to maintain an existing edge - this is more doable. The vids might be all it takes to convey the maintenance needed. Best of luck, whichever way you go.
I too learned to hone while still learning to shave. I actually intentionally dulled 2 blades honed by Lynn(gasp) to see if I could hone them. Eventually, after many efforts, I got them sharp again.
