Cutting a slurry stone (Norton)
I remember a while back I read a few of you guys cut a slurry stone off the end of your Norton 4/8 and I'm noticing I have been grinding through my other natural slurry stones so thought this might be a good idea. Anyone want to explain how they cut it, size, and show some pics maybe as well?
I don't like using my diamond plates because it can scratch the surface a bit.

IIRC norton makes a rubbing stone especially for their 4/8. I've never used or had one, preferring to use my nortons straight up water only, but I know they make something for that purpose. Cheap relatively speaking and a whole lot easier than cutting one yourself. The one they make is not made of the same material as the hones. So it may just be they think it ideal for the purpose. Not sure about that though.

Thanked: 2591I used a hack saw and a carbide coated blade from amazon. I have used that on quite a few stones naturals and synthetics and works real well.
