Apparently the Taiwanese customs office suspects I'm smuggling diamonds or something...I ordered in February so I guess I can wait a bit more.

Yay it's escaped customs! Just received my 2x6" Zulu.

I originally said I'd be happy to get a piece with some skin on a small side, but apparently there were no such pieces laying about so I got one that's been more or less finished on all sides, though the bottom sawed side had a bit of a step that I flattened with some 150-grit paper. Top seems pretty smooth.

I took a Törnblom razor that I was struggling with on my Wakasa Jnat and gave it a few dozen laps on the Zulu Grey under running water. Started feeling sticky after a short while. I like how it feels with the Swedish steel. Gave it some strokes on leather and the edge is promising, but I'll have to wait a bit to give it a good test.

The wrapping was well done but I wasn't very impressed with the label printing. The 6x2" size is almost perfect for me, though some may find it on the small side.

Looking forward to giving it some more attention soon.

Let me ask this: For those of you who have the Zulu Grey, does it give a smoother edge/shave over the Naniwa SS 12k finishing stone? Say polishing on the 12k then move to the Zulu, does this give you a better shave that is worth the money for the Zulu?

I'm looking into buying one in the 8x3 size if there is much improvement from the SS 12k.

I have the Naniwa 12K also and I can tell you this: since I saw the Zulu many months ago the shave I am getting off the Naniwa 12K is not as good as it was before I saw the Zulu.

That's always the question I ask about a natural hone. I'll be able to answer it once my ZG comes, or about a week after, I guess. Hone, shave, rehone, shave...

Of course the ZGs are naturals and might not all be the same. Nobody's experience with one will be universal.

I'm looking forward to your review! I really am leaning towards one, I guess I'm just looking for a push.

I sold my naniwa 12k as I found the edge to be a tad too harsh. That is just me though, lots & lots of people love them! The edges from the Zulu are much smoother IMHO but again, that's just my take on things....YMMV as they say....
