Visiting China. What should I get?
We're planning a trip to Hunan province in China next year, and I was wondering about getting a hone and a couple of razors.
When I was there previously, I'd noticed barbers shaving people on the street. I thought I might buy two new razors if possible, one for the barber to shave me with right then and there and another to take home and play with. Anything I should know about buying razors in China? What should I look for? What should I avoid?
The other thing I'm considering is a hone. I've heard about the stones from Guangxi province. How do I go about choosing a good one for finishing? Again, what should I look for and what should I avoid?
Thanks.

To be sure you get a good stone you really have to try it.

Chinese Food of course....! Visit a Dim Sum place.....Oh, and Tea....They have great Tea....
I'd steer clear of the razors I think, especially from any street vendor...I have a good friend in Hong Kong. Let me know if you need any advice. We have assumed control !

Thanked: 10Second on the tea. I try to get all my tea while in China. It's a steal compared to the prices you'd pay online...
Try some "jun shan yin zhen" (君山银针) tea. It's great and (supposedly) very good for you. If you're a fan of history you may have heard that this was one of Mao's favorites and, I believe, was sent en masse to the Soviet Union as gifts.
