was down in orleans on cape cod this past week and since we both needed socks we went into a tj maxx. ever since i found two cute laguiole pocketknives in one of these stores i always look in the home dept. this time i found a japanese synthetic hone that was labeled made for j a henckels. i couldn't at first see any other indication of what the grit size was so i took it up to the cashier and asked her to peel back the price tag. she rather grumpily agreed, no grit size label, so i took it back and continued to scrutinize the box. and finally saw that it was 5000 grit, in teeny tiny little letters i could hardly read. rats. i would have bought it in a heartbeat if it were 10k. half price, only 59.95. if you're in the area, maybe go get it before the cape gets totally flooded.
