Thread: got my norton 4k/8k but need to lap it confusion with DMT plates can you help

    Hard to say....Is the bevel set do you know?

    What you might want to try is to do some circles (Watch Lynn or gssixgun's videos on Youtube) on the 4k with a little slurry raised (you can use just sandpaper to raise a slurry). After 40x circles on both sides, then follow it up with 10-15 X-Strokes and see where you're at...

    also the gold 8k side has dark patches on it

    Lap until the dark patches are gone. The hone should have one uniform color & texture.
