Thanked: 4249Artificial Razor Hone not a new concept after all.
A Master cutler from Paris France name Pierre Vallon, who has won a couple of honorable mention and a bronze medal in 1827.
His medal was for well executed cutlery and especially for his razor with interchangeable blade.
In August 1827 Mr Vallon was awarded a patent for his artificial hone for razors.
His hones made up of 5 minerals that were calcified and pulverised, turned them into a fine powder, applied on a paddle or a normal
shape stone for razors. It is also said that after completion Mr Vallon artificial razor hone is as hard as marble. The outcome from using such stone is said as leaving a razor that will shave perfectly without desiring nothing else.Last edited by Martin103; 11-25-2012 at 10:14 PM.

Humans have been trying to improve on Mother Nature for a very long time. It's like the old argument, would you rather have a synthetic Ruby totally flawless or a natural one full of flaws costing 1000x more?
