2-Line "Old Swaty Hone"
Hello SRP,
So I have been doing research about Swaty Hones, and recently decided to pick one up (on the bay). This particular hone has 2 lines of Text on the top of the hone which, as we all know, is a common version of the Swaty (Franz Swaty - Marburg, Austria)..That's all well and good..
. What struck me as odd though, is the stamps on the sides of the hone. One says "MADE IN JUGOSLAVIA", and on the side of the hone is stamped "Old Swaty Hone".
Now I searched for any info on the "Old Swaty Hone", and could not find anything. Do you think this could be a reproduction made
at a (much) later date than the original 2-line hones? Or did the original 2-liners also have these stamps on the sides of the hone?
I have included pics of the hone in case you were wondering what I was talking about...Thx in advance for any help you can provide!!

There is an old thread on this and that is not a reproduction. The "J" rather than the "Y" had to do with some political history that escapes me but is discussed in the old thread IIRC; http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...rovenance.html
