    Is there a way to d0 this? I have a 1k a 6k, 3k, 8k and 12k.

    Yes the grits are different but the concept doesn't change. The practical difference in the number of strokes is minimal considering that. 1.The number of strokes necessary differs due to many factors, mostly pressure. Less pressure is usually smoother, more is often harsher. 2. You should be moving up the hones based on how the razor feels on the hones, not mechanically following a numerical formula. Gssixgun's honing a smiling wedge razor videos covers this rather well, some others probably do as well.

    The main purpose of the pyramid method was to provide a almost fool proof method, happily it is also relatively fast. The art comes in knowing when to stop. The science is just the start of the learning curve. There is always more to learn and perfect.
