Thanked: 246I've noticed the slight color change on darker Thuris (more like a shade change, but I digress) if they haven't been lapped or used with a rub stone in a while. I think maybe they darken a bit from absorbing skin oil or something - as I've also noticed the beading of water. A quick lap with a diamond plate or even a rubbing with a rub stone and they are back to normal though.

Here's another pretty Thurry for the image collection. (Nothing extremely special. Typical 7x1.5x.75" size. Typical grit and speed. Typical everything. Just pretty stripes with a couple brown lines. That's all.)
Regards,
Chris

LOL Thanks, guys. I'll post a few photos this weekend in the Frameback Fanciers thread, where it may be more appropriate. It's a pretty razor, but the Damascus pattern is etched onto the blade as surface decoration only. It's not true Damascus steel. Still cool, tho.

I got this one a couple days ago at a barn sale in with tools and such. It was dirty and caked with slurry so it was difficult to see just how beautiful it is until I got it cleaned and lapped. This is a 6 x 2 inch.
