    Default Good buy to hone norton 4k/8k

    Hello everyone I'm new to the new lapping experience and I was wondering if this link:6" Dia-Sharp Diamond Stone is a good buy to Lapp a 4k/8k Norton water stone?

    Edit: sorry guys I needed to put lapping and not hone the stone

    I believe u wanna lap the stone not hone it, u can use a good quality 320 grit wet dry sandpaper on a flat surface In the google search bar on this page type in hone lapping 101 http://straightrazorpalace.com/srpwi...ne_Lapping_101

    If you want to lap a 4/8 norton, which is 8x3" a Dia Sharp DMT D8C is 8x3" and works better than the 6" plate IME.

    Definitely much easier using the 8" x 3" DMT D8C. I was using a 6" one for a few months and it was difficult to lap the with, IMO. You can get on the 8" for around $20 more than the 6" from several vendors. Got mine from SRD.
