    Default Naniwa 12000

What's the tipacle touch up most use? I wanted to touch up a couple straight using my new 12000 naniwa and I was wondering how many laps most guys use?

So many as you wil , but most of the times 20 strokes are the max for a touchup. Some razors need more some less

There is no such thing as Typical, and there in lies the problem

I would start with 10 nice even perfect laps and see what that does,,, Then you have a baseline to work from

Lately for initial touch ups I have been using 4-7 weight of the blade strokes on the Naniwa SS 12K. You can always go back and do a couple more strokes if needed. Same applies for the pastes and sprays too.

    Have fun.

My thought was around 10 or 20 so I'll give it ago. I normally do 20 laps on my 8k norton so I was just second guessing myself on the 12000 Naniwa

Well if the man himself says 4 to 7 laps that's what I'll try. I guess it's always best to start with less.

    Thanks

when i first got my 12k i think i had around 30 razors shave ready up to 8k , i went 8-10 on thinner blades and carbons and 12-15 on those wedgie Sheffield's and stainless blades ... when i touch them up i start around 5 ... im no master and have no reason but this has seemed to work good for me ...

Gooser that was my next question. I also have some Sheffield's so it looks like I'll figure out what works best for all. Thanks for all the info and help
