Default SR touch up on a 12k?

Think my SR is due for a touch up. I don't have a paste however I do have a 12k sitting around. Naniwa... Anyway I'm wondering if it is wise to use this stone for a quick touch up. If so how many laps? Should I add water? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know norton doesn't make a 12k so my guess is it is a naniwa.

If it is a naniwa 12k splash it with water and due 3-7 laps on it strop and test shave.

    Repeat as needed.

Really need to consider the maker's instructions re water but in the right hands a 12 k could suffice. Never heard of a Norton 12 k tho.

It's a naniwa.. I was too lazy to get out of bed but curiosity got the best of me so I went down. I'm going to give it a go. I'll try 7 laps amd see how that goes. Appreciate the feedback gents.

Here's a link to gssixgun's vids on Naniwa honing. Linked this to #1 of 3, but they'll show up. I think this will help with the water issue, and touch.

Try to keep your laps extremely light, no pressure - weight of the razor on the stone only. And make sure your hone is properly lapped beforehand.
