    Just purchased two slate hones, namely - Dragons tongue and Yellow Lake. Bought them basically because I could afford them!

    Anyone had any experience of honing with similar stones?

    Yes, I guess you could say some people have some experience with those. Settle in. This thread went on forever. The pictures don't look exactly like your stones, but they are from the same seller, and are the same stones, so far as anyone might be able to tell you.

    I have both, and find that they provide a very nice edge. I usually use the Drag. Toungue before the YL/LM. I will start with "skim-milk" slurry, and to sets of 30 x-strokes with dilutions down to water....Seems to work very well!
