Grinding and Honing part 3 is on the site.
We are pleased to inform you that the third part of the "Sharpening and Honing" is on our site.
You can find it at: Index website Henk en Ge Bos In 118 pages, stories about 22 whetstones and illustrated with 568 images!
After a year of searching, puzzling, interviewing, comparing data, visiting companies and quarries is written a concept. After processing criticism, making additions and improvements is the concept completed with drawings, illustrations and photos. After that the concept is read once again and then translated as good as possible into English by my beloved. It's not perfect and there will be needed further improvements. When we get a message about mistakes, the improvements will be processed in a next version.
In 2014 we hope to publish part 4. It will take much energy to write a logical story on the Coticules and Thuringians. Hopefully you will go on to help me by delivering information. After all we do not write for ourselves but for the community.

Maybe it's growing into a book. Who knows. More importantly is that the information is available for the interested user. Hence, it is published in parts. It will be a while before it is finished. The stones are now described for one third, so there is still a long way to go. After that will come Chapter 7 Specials and Chapter 8 with Abrassivity tests; Determination table and a Index to words.
A hell of a job! Regards, Henk
