More accurately it is an 'Old Stock Pike' that was placed and sold in a Norton Abrasives box when Norton purchased the old Pike Company. I also have the 'Norton' combination hone which was manufactured later to replace this 'Pike Hone' (commonly known as the 'Ax-man's Hone favored and highly prized and priced by Ax Throwers).
Personally... I find little if any difference in the quality and effectiveness of these two hones, which tends to tell me that they were both made according to the same or very similar formula. I rate both of them with the Frictionite 00 as some of the best barber hones available.
