Thanked: 28JNAT Stamp ID
Hi guys, I'm looking at a JNAT for sale, the stamp says something very similar to "正水山合纸"
I can read some chinese so I can recognise 正水山 "Zheng Shui Shan" (genuine water mountain ?) and the fourth character is "he" 合, the fifth character has no chinese equivalent so I can't write it exactly but looks close to 纸 zhi with a different prefix (first half of the character).
Lol. can someone help me out here? I'm thinking this might be just a generic kinda stamp on stones and it will not tell me which mine it's from but maybe someone knows."In the words of the ancients, one should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths." Yamamoto Tsunetomo

Thanked: 44You sure it's not 正本山合砥? That is a standard stamp on pretty much any hone and doesn't tell you much of anything except it's from the Eastern hemisphere, probably.
And 砥石 is in fact a Chinese word as well.

Thanked: 28Thanks for the tip, yeah that's the one,
as I said the last character I wasn't able to identify.
what does that word mean in chinese? I would like to think it's not a very common word as I couldn't find it in the dictionary lol"In the words of the ancients, one should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths." Yamamoto Tsunetomo

I like this thread. I'm learning the kanji the last months, and I need practice. I guess it's a genuine mizuyama stone
Actually, is says that it's a water stone, probably natural, from the "mountain" kanji. That's all. Some pictures could help.

Thanked: 28Thanks for that Tierdaen =]
I can barely speak mandarin, I can recognise/write some very common characters, so it took me ages to try and find the characters off google image search, LOL I don't have any chinese language software so I had to search the pinyin and then find a character to copy and paste for each one.
Lemur here are some pictures.
On another topic has anyone had good experiences buying JNAT's from Rakuten?"In the words of the ancients, one should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths." Yamamoto Tsunetomo

I have used this http://kanji.sljfaq.org/
Had some success with it but it's hard, you have to draw the "sticks" in the right order, Tierdaen is way more effective!Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.
