Looking for info on a speckled Coti
Evening gents, found a little 5"x1" on Ebay and due to a single picture (below) and vague description, I got a pretty sweet deal on it.
What I would like to know is if anyone has used a coti that looks similar to this and can comment on how it performs.
From the bay:
Coti side Dry
Coti side wet
backing dry
backing wet
from the side you can see a layer that runs almost perfectly horizontal all the way around the backing stone.
As always, thanks for any info!

Here is mine & I love it. for now it has replaced my Shapton 16 as my go to finisher. I also have a 1 inch coticule slurry stone to go with it.

yeah I have one that is part of a four sided strop, but I think it may remain a display piece. Only because I don't want to get water or slurry all over the adjacent leather. So this little one is now my primary cotIcule. Although I could still use a larger one, and a natural combo, and maybe some bouts...

Thanked: 28I feel you, I have 1 coticule I just started using and the smoothness from it is amazing I didn't think I could get an edge so smooth with my meager honing skills. I have 2 more coticules on the way, I'm going to try them all and maybe I'll sell off 1 of them and keep the 2 I like more. Next I'm going to lap the thuringian and see how that feels.

I don't really know a lot about speeds on a stone, only 2 years into this honing experience. I have finished about 6 razors on it now. Coming from an 8k, I get a beautiful shave at about 35 strokes. I have touched up 2 razors with 10 to 12 strokes, to get back in the game.
Compared to my PHIG, it's like the Concorde was from New York to London.
