    WOW, but there is a lot of trolling and misinformation in this thread.........

    I knew you guys were in here, but am still amazed sometimes..........

    At least the OP's question was in good faith.

    I think several of you should shave with a razor from Dovo or TI that has no spine wear and really enjoy yourselves. FYI, these do not exist. I also think you should look at the spines on new TI's and realize that experienced people sharpening razors couldn't put that much wear on a razor in a few years of honing it. Out of the thousands of razors I hone every year, I get less than a handful of people requesting tape and once again, I am betting that if you measure the small amount of metal removed from a razor in good condition including bevel setting, you would find it far less than anything needing a precaution. Once a razor is honed properly and not damaged or dulled by improper use, the maintenance of it requires virtually no addition wear.
