Thread: Black Ark???

Just thought I'd shoot out a quick update.

Since shaving my beard off a couple months ago I'd been experimenting with shaving just off an 8k. I didn't have an actual finisher, but used to go from 8k to Swaty. The Swaty definitely lent something to the edge, but I was surprised how a little concentrated effort at the 8k level could produce a very proficient edge and was shaving "comfortably" off the 8k.

Since you all convinced me that this stone was a Thuri, I slid a few blades over it and gave it a shot. It was like night and day...almost as if I'd gone from shaving with a serrated knife to a smooth one. The edges coming off of this stone are fantastic, and as of Thursday night my entire current rotation has been treated to the Thuri. What's more, the persistent problem areas of my neck have improved...I still have demon beard that tries to curl immediately back into my skin in two patches, but I've been able to shave those areas without exacerbating the problem.

Good to hear its working out great for you, if you come in with a good shave ready edge at 8k the thuri/escher will always reward you with a great edge, Enjoy!
