Grit Rating of a Genco Barber's Hone and a no name hone?
Title says it all... I have a Genco branded barber's hone that will be waiting on me when I get home. Given that all my razors are Geneva/Genco, I just HAD to have it ("But, Honey, I have to get it or my razors won't have any friends...").
I did some searching to see if anyone had a more specific number for this particular hone than just the normal "6-12K range" for barber's hones. Alas, no luck.
My current barber's hone is also missing any solid info. I did find one thread where someone had the same hone, but I don't know if they ever found the info.
Thanks in advance everybody!!"Willpower and Dedication are good words," Roland remarked, "There's a bad one, though, that means the same thing. That one is Obsession." -Roland Deschain of Gilead

Thanked: 4249The grit is irrelevant, hone a razor on it, test shave, that the real test.

Haha, true, it is, but I also don't want to go down while honing i.e. come off my norton 8k and move to the genco which is only 6k. That might be a bit counterproductive.
