    One thing,some may disagree,that slurry stone that came with the 1000,throw it in the trash,JMO

    Thanks for the heads up on the slurry stone, I'll use the little diamond card to make slurry instead.

    The slurry stone is great to quickly create a fresh surface on the hone. I use it and then rinse off the slurry. Keep it, it's good. I also use a DMT for the same purpose.
