Thanked: 28Hi Guys, Preserving labels on vintage hones ? Help pls =]
Hi Guys,
I have a vintage tam o shanter / dalmore blue. combo stone that came in a cardboard box with the purple label. It has another purple label stuck on the side of the hone. I have avoided using this hone up until now because I'm unsure if the label will get damaged or not it seems to be like just a sticker on the side of the hone. I'll post a pic sorry for the quality\
really looking forward to exploring the properties of this hone I just want to ensure that I don't lose the label before using it. I've read in an old post that someone used some kinda of spray called Krylon Preserve it.
Any tips on what to use or what type of lacquer or any other products or if you just want to compliment me on my acquisitions that is fine also :P"In the words of the ancients, one should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths." Yamamoto Tsunetomo

Saitou, nice hone. I read on the South African Zulu Grey postings quite a bit about preserving labels. I think some guys used clear nail varnish.
I bet it must be cold down there...
