Almost sharp
Need advice on how to razor that shaves OK but not totally sharp. Do I do Lynn pyramid technique? Use a coticle stone? I tried oxide but that didn't help.

Thanked: 44I would send it off to get it properly honed. There are numerous ones listed under member services. It is not that costly and will be done properly. Having a razor that is kind of sharp is not really a razor.IMO

Why do you want a razor that is not totally sharp? You have a greater chance of doing damage to yourself with a duller razor.

Thanked: 1184Do you have hones already ? Are you looking to learn that process or you just want your razor sharp? If you use it but it pulls and tugs it could be it just needs a finisher. Then again you might need to reset the bevel. Perhaps you should type your question into the search box. That will give you lots of places to research your problem. Need to sharpen is a very big question with many many answers.

To answer your question we really need to know what has already been done to razor.
Is it a brand new razor? What brand?
Is it an eBay buy or antique store buy?
Was it shave ready at some point? If so how long did you use it for.
How long have you been using a straight razor?
You say you used oxide what type and micron?
