    Default Question...

I have a Hart steel razor with a slight smile which I honed on a set of shaptons (1k, 4k, 8k, 16k and 30k) I get the most incredible shaves both wtg and atg but it doesn't cut arm or leg hairs midway up very well. I do a fair amount of passes on the 16 and 30k hones using a rolling stroke. HHT5 using scalp hair held by the tip. Just curious why such a sharp and comfortable razor doesn't clip arm/leg hairs using that test?

    TIA

    John

From reading on this and other sites, many say that the only test that works every time is the shave test. It is also the one that counts. If it shaves good, then it is good.

Are you sure it's not cutting. Maybe you just aren't seeing or feeling it. + 1 on the "if it shaves great there is nothing wrong" forget it.

Maybe your arm and leg hairs are not amenable to being pinged about by a wafting razor? Are the hairs on your limbs thin and wispy and limp? Do you make them stand up before wafting the razor through them?

As has been said, if it is shaving well there's no real problem, though I do agree with you that if I were in the same position I'd be curious about the arm hair thing too.

Only the shave test counts, all others are merely "indicators".

My arm and leg hairs are really thin and wispy... They tend to lie flat too.
