Building slurry on king 1k
What exactly will building slurry on my king 1k due for bevel setting? And what can I use .. I have a dmt 325 that I have used to lap my norton 4/8 and my nainwa 12 k.. Could I use the dmt 325 on the 1 k to build a slurry?? From what I have read here it kinda speeds up the stone a bit ?.

I have a King 1200 that on occasion I use as a bevel setter and I use the DMT 325 to create slurry on it. While Glen can give you the technical terms, I find that since I want a fresh surface to start with I need to use the 325 to achieve this, then I leave the slurry since it’s already there, and the slurry ‘seems’ to ‘multiply’ the cutting action. I’m no expert, that’s just my observation! The King does a nice job for me so I stick with it.

Thanked: 13245Roy is correct, I can talk for a solid hour or type pages about what myself and others believe the mud is doing, but first you have to decide if it helps you by trying it out, if you try it and get a good results you can delve deeper into the "Art of Slurry" ...
Try it and see what you think
