Default First Great Shave off my own honed blade!

    All,

Happy to report just got a DFS off a blade I honed all on my own...an old Dovo Best. This thing was cutting hairs like mad, as I checked it periodically. Further, was one of the smoothest shaves Ive had in weeks (also took a couple of days off prior to the shave which might have helped). Only used the DE for under the chin and the upper lip, which have always given me fits regardless of which blade I use.

Great experience to shave off something you sharpened entirely on your own!

Now you're self-sufficient and never need to go to the store. Great feeling!

Congrats ... There's no feeling like being able to say you did all on your own.

Awesome dude. Now challenge yourself...dull it intentionally and try it again! I did that after my first successful bevel set and hone. Alcohol was involved (with the decision to dull it, not the re-sharpening!).
