Well I am still somewhat torn, and to add to the confusion the 3/8 combo is looking like a contender, it's about the same price as buying a 10mm 3&8k seperately, but I like the idea of the more substantial single 20mm stone. Oh indecisions buggin' me !

The Nani 3/8 combo is what I use and unless you plan to hone for a living it will last a very long time doing the odd razor now and then.

Hi Ed,
Don't know if this helps, but Lynn in his video uses the following progressions with Naniwa stones for honing and coments on how comfortable he is with it. He sets the bevel at 1K, Naniwa 5k, Naniwa 8K, Naniwa 12K then CrOx and strop.
Goog Naniwa and Lynn Abrams and you should see the vid.
I only know as I've just started to research the honing and settled on a 12K for my first. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
