Well i see now that i can get a great edge in 15 minutes. Up untill now i was honing for 40 to 45 minutes to get that same edge. I guess the discovery of so much products and knowledge on shaving last winter got me a bit crazy. But what's to expect after 15 years of shaving with grandpa's razors and supermarket soap(though de vergulde hand and bartex make extremely good soap for its price). I'll probably just work with the equipment i have and just buy soaps and aftershaves, keep off buying hardware till i know if i need it.
Another lesson learned is...keep off the internet if you wanna shave cheap. I have spend around 100 dollars on shaving in 15 years(including the naniwa which i bought for sharpening speedskates), this year alone i have spend about 300 dollars. The internet is a great place for classic shavers, just don't surf with your wallet in the same room.
