Default minor nick in edge of Gold Dollar

you can just barely make out the tiny chip on the edge of my Gold Dollar 800, i had actually JUST finished refreshing the edge on the 3 micron lapping film, followed by the 1 micron, then CrOx, and stropping...

this has always worked well and the edge was prefect after i finished my typical refresh progression, that is until i bumped the edge against the polished marble plate that i use as a lapping plate haha...

anyway, i inspected the edge with a 20x Loupe and all appears prefect aside from that one small chip...

do you guys think about 50 laps each starting at 5 micron film, then 3 micron, followed by 1 micron and so on will do the trick? or do i need to use a more aggressive film?

#this razor hones perfectly on film from my experience with it, unlike my grandfather's razor which i posted yesterday, this one sits perfectly flat while honing#

It should yes as that is a 4k equivalent I believe. You don't have to take it all out with the 5 micron, get most of it and the 3 and 1 should finish it off. The stabilizers on the heel need some attention as it looks like you are short at the heel on the blade.

thanks! I'm doing pretty well with honing, but I'm not really familiar with how to go about addressing the stabilizers...

time to watch some YouTube tutorials hah
