    Default Tim Zowada 2h2h razor

Hi all just received my new Tim Zowada razor a few days ago its one of his 2h2h razors they are one of his more budget razors made out of steel but still a great razor and finish. Upon my first shave i was getting quite a bit of irritation which i thought was a bit odd.I then got out my usb microscope 200x magnification and was a bit surprised at what i saw the edge of the blade had quite a bit of microchipping,so off i went to the hones and redid razor from start to finish resetting bevel at 1k then 5k 8k then i finished the razor off with zulu grey.I also slightly rounded the spike on this razor with 325 dmt before i honed it, i like my rounded edges i then shave tested razor and it was my second shave for the day because of testing and i still managed to get a closer shave than before and hardly any irritation which was a bonus. What also must be said is im not knocking Tims or anyone elses work im no expert myself, also the steel he uses on his blades is one of the easiest to hone if not the easiest ive honed with,I also attached photos of razor and before hone pics 1,2,3 on bottom and top is bevel set 2nd on 5 k next on 8k and so on thanks for taking the time out to read

    Thanks for sharing!

It's a nice looking razor but a shame that the edge wasn't right, especially for the price the Tim Zowada razors go for.

At least you have managed to correct this though!

i would be sending the pics to let him know.

On another note, another perth person!!! What the hell is going on, I was pretty much the only one on here 12 months ago!

Now I know where all the razors are going in Perth!

    Hazza,

From your photos, it looks like I sent out your razor without doing the final honing. I have been doing the razors in batches of 5 - 10. I must have gotten my "piles" mixed up.

No matter how it happened, your razor should have arrived properly honed. I am very sorry for your inconvenience. If you would like, I will replace your razor. At the very least, I will pay you for your honing work. Let me know what you would like to do.

Thank you for your patience, and understanding.

    Tim Z.

Thats ok Tim they also sent me the razor with a big gap on one side of the wedge and a very light crack on one side of the scales near the wedge but its only a light hairline crack I think maybe because its, made of wood ebony. I tightened the scales up a bit and its better its spaced more evenly now nothing worse than shaving with loose blade a bit dangerous but all good if the scales end up cracking I might send it back for repair but up to now its my best shaver and I have over 2 dozen of the. Most high end factory razors and and a few customs and at the moment I only shave with this one an absolute dream to shave with , hope your recovering well God Bless
