I have GB Anchors in 9/8, 10/8, and 11/8. They all hone easily and hold their edges nicely. I don't find them behaving any differently from the larger W&Bs and Rodgers I have. I do tend to stay away from the 30K Shapton on these (and most others these days) and finish them with the Naniwa SS 12K and then the Gokumyo 20K. The shaves seem just fine, and the edges do not degrade differently from my other larger blades.

The one GB I honed was 10/8 and I used two pieces of Super 88 with one piece of 33 on top of that. I used the 33 more for its slippery quality with the amount of tape I had to use to get to the edge.

Thank you all, guys! It would have taken me ages if I had to find this out all on my own. I'm on holidays now and didn't bring my honing gear (to keep the girl happy), but this weekend, I'll definitely give it another try and keep you posted.

Pfew, it wasn't that easy. I tried at least 5 times, but now I'm finally getting close. I got a full shave out of the GB, but it wasn't as sharp as I would like and a bit harsh. I'll give the 0.5 diamonds a go, see if they can smoothen it out.
