Thread: Thuringen Size

I would like advice on the merits of the different sizes of Thuringens that will be available from Tony's site. Considering that X honing is most often recommended is there any real benefit of the 3" wide over the 2" wide Thuringen?

I'm very partial to the narrower, 2" hones. I do, however, use the X pattern almost exclusively. I also really like the Thuringen.

Narrower hones are usually preferred for a smiling edge.
