vRmaniii I'll agree with my smoothest shaves seem to come after touching up on a 12k and stropping. That's an awesome stone.

True but 20+ strokes is a bit beyond a touch up for most razors

Im with Pat and Ryan on this. If it was pulling at 8k finish I would start at the 8k hone then move on otherwise you are starting from a flawed base. JMO. Ed
