Thanked: 1184Most of the blades I buy need a lot of work so after all the sanding and polishing the 1k is the starting point. If the blade is in good condition,,, The starting point is the same with less passes to graduate it to the next level :<0) Start at the beginning , move on, don't look back.

I like to reset the bevel on all of my eBay purchases because I'm a taper. Plus, once I know the bevel has been set and the razor is as sharp as I can get it, I know it will require little maintenance in terms of honing.
