Thanked: 1Lol! I hear ya there. Actually just to clarify my burr creation was a last ditch effort after attempting to set a new bevel twice 'normally'. In all cases I've been able to bring the edge back to the same state. It is a real shame because I think this blade would be an exceptional cutter. If I shave test, anywhere on the blade is smoooooth but that tip brings tears to my eyes.
I believe the blade may have been restored at one point or it was well cared for. It was oiled when I found it. I did some polishing but I didn't have to go to a dremel or any business like that. My philosophy on honing or sharpening anything is to start as delicately as possible. I started with stropping and worked my way backward when it became evident that portion of the blade wasn't taking an edge. I think I'm stricken with OCD when it comes to these things. It's driving me nuts but it isn't like a have a bunch of other razors to use. Lol!!
Thanks again!!
