Haha, ohh, yes but there is a reason for that.
As I deal with jewellery too, I sometimes need to copy the surface texture of one lost in a pair of earrings and then it's good to have lots of stuff to choose from.
I also like to use them for their intended use, like the old Le Grelot paste on my Le Grelots, it's fun to shave with an "original" edge.Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Lemur, buy a sheet of cheap foam core poster board from a dollar store. Not the good board with the shiny smooth paper.
The cheap one has a construction paper finish and cost a dollar for a 30 by 24 inch sheet. The heavy construction paper finish holds the paste very well.
Cut it into 12 in strips with a razor knife then 3 in strips with a paper cutter, or use the knife and straight edge.
Bingo, instant foam core paper strops, work better than balsa and cost pennies per strop and they last quite long.
Paint you paste in 3 in X’s and strop away. The other benefit is you are only testing the paste not the silica in balsa.
Just did the same thing with a bunch of Kramer pigments.Last edited by Euclid440; 12-13-2013 at 06:13 AM.
