Hi Guys, just bought a new hone, a Kitiyama 12 K waterstone. I was wondering if anyone has used this stone and what they thougt of it.

I have one. Its a great finishing hone. I don't use it that much now since I got the Coticule but its still a great hone. Make sure you use the Nogura Stone with it to build up a slurry.

Thanks Guys, I saw it on Lynn's video awhiile back. Since then I have been looking for a Belgium. I din't know Howard sold them and I din't know Tony sold the thurigiun until last week. As soon as I buy the Kitiyama, a Belgium pops up on ebay and Tony post he will be getting a new load in a few weeks.
My stone collection is getting as big as my razor collection. And all I wanted was a close shave.

I use the kitayama quite a bit, and am very happy with it.
It is a very fast cutting 12k, but you have to make sure you don't apply any pressure, and it's easy to create a wire edge on it.
use a light touch and get familiar with the nagura stone, and you will get excellent blades for years to come with that hone.
